About Earth & Us

Our Story

Earth & Us is a youth-led environmental education initiative based in Frisco, Texas. Founded by high school students passionate about environmental health and community engagement, Earth & Us teaches elementary students how environmental issues connect to their daily lives, schools, and communities. The program focuses on environmental health, stormwater runoff, waste, recycling, conservation, natural resources, heat, pollution, habitat, and civic responsibility.

Earth & Us was born from the recognition that environmental education often feels abstract or distant for young students. By grounding lessons in observable, local systems—like the storm drains in their neighborhoods, the recycling bins in their cafeterias, and the heat on their playgrounds—students see themselves as active participants in environmental stewardship and community health.

Our Mission

To empower elementary students in Frisco with environmental knowledge and scientific thinking by teaching them how their schools, daily activities, and communities connect to broader environmental systems. We create hands-on, accessible, and inspiring workshops that help students understand their role in environmental stewardship, public health, and civic responsibility.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every elementary student in Frisco understands the environmental systems that shape their lives, and where student-led environmental education is woven into the fabric of our schools. We see Earth & Us expanding across more Frisco ISD campuses, training student-led chapters, empowering high school volunteers as facilitators, and advocating for stronger, locally-grounded environmental education in schools. We believe that when young people understand the 'why' behind environmental action, they become agents of change in their communities.
